The Giant
Classic Der Riese-inspired training map with teleporter Pack-a-Punch and the Mule Kick Easter egg.
The Giant is Michael’s Zombies’ flagship training map — a Der Riese-inspired facility where most players learn kiting, perk priority, and Easter egg fundamentals. Michael’s Zombies (Roblox place ID 8054462345) is a Call of Duty Zombies-style experience from the MZ Community with 222M+ visits and ongoing updates including v2.1.0 Crash and Burn. Map overview
The Giant features multi-floor indoor corridors, an outdoor courtyard, and three teleporter pads that define both traversal and the Pack-a-Punch unlock. Power switches gate perk machines and the Mystery Box. Wall buys include staples from the weapons tier list — the MP40, STG-44, and Trench Shotgun — so you can build a viable loadout before round 10.
Because the layout is forgiving compared to Lighthouse or Definitely Origins, streamers and the MZ Community recommend The Giant for first-time players. Solo or co-op, the loop is identical: earn points, open doors, buy Juggernog and Speed Cola, then chase box weapons or wall upgrades.
Pack-a-Punch unlock
The Giant requires power plus linking three teleporters in sequence. After flipping the main breaker, activate each teleporter pad, defend the pad while it charges, and jump through when the beam stabilizes. Once all three links complete, the Pack-a-Punch machine becomes available for the standard 4,500-point upgrade per weapon.
This teleporter puzzle teaches timing and split responsibilities in co-op — one player holds zombies away while another rides the pad. If you fail mid-link, reset zombies with training routes from the training zombies guide before retrying. Full screenshots and callouts live on the dedicated Pack-a-Punch guide.
Perk locations and priority
Classic sodas spawn in predictable locations once power is on:
- Juggernog — first buy on almost every run; doubles effective health.
- Speed Cola — second priority for reload-dependent guns like the Saiga-12.
- Double Tap — third for DPS scaling past round 15.
- Quick Revive — strong in co-op for faster revives.
- Mule Kick — normally locked behind the Easter egg, but essential for three-gun builds on the builds tier list.
Compare perk order against the perks tier list if you are optimizing for solo high rounds versus squad casual runs.
Mule Kick Easter egg
The Giant’s signature quest unlocks Mule Kick permanently on the map through a Hide-and-Seek style sequence involving a furnace, the Friend monkey bomb equipment, and coordinated item drops. The Easter egg is the best introduction to multi-step quests before tackling Lighthouse sonar or Definitely Origins.
VIP private server owners can rehearse steps using admin commands — spawn Friend via console IDs and use set_map TheGiant with set_round 1 between attempts. Walk through every step on the Giant Mule Kick guide.
Weapons and Mystery Box
The Mystery Box rotates wonder weapons like the Raygun and wall-buy classics. For consistent high rounds, many players anchor on the Trench Shotgun or PTRS-41 before Pack-a-Punching. Attachments from v2.1.0 Crash and Burn further shift DPS — test combinations using private-server spawns documented on the console IDs page.
High-round training
The Giant’s open courtyard supports standard circle kiting. Group zombies, maintain one direction of movement, and knife-repair the window breach between buys. Past round 30, ammo management matters more than raw damage — see high-round survival tips for reload discipline and horde timing.
When you outgrow The Giant, graduate to One Window for tighter training or Undead Nocturn for themed challenge runs.
